Since it's the first of the year, I've decided I'm going to do a few blogs about the 'firsts' we've had in our life. So...today's blog is about your FIRST kiss.
I'll tell you mine, then I want you to comment and tell me yours. I'll pick my favorite and the winner will get a copy of my new release - Secrets After Dark in paperback. (so be sure to leave me your name and email addy so I can contact you if you're the winner)
My first kiss... I was in high school and VERY shy. (for those of you who know me, I can hear you laughing now!) But I was shy. I was a sophomore in high school and my first boyfriend was a junior. We were in the same band class. We used to meet during lunch in a vacant, dark room, and hold each other and kiss. I really thought I was in heaven! Little did I know, I wouldn't be in heaven until I kissed the man I would marry...which of course happened years later and a whole different story which I won't tell now. :)
Okay, so now it's your turn. Tell me of your first kiss!

Marie, I am so excited to know another author personally and to get to know her work!
One word... 'slobberfest' :) I'm sorry was it supposed to be romantic? hehehe
I had seen the guy many times, but he was what my father would called poor and one day he stopped me and asked me to go out with him. He touch my lips it wasn't bad, but I had no feelings for him and it was awkward. I said NO.

I remember like it was yesterday. I was in the 5th grade, Mr. Cook's class, and I had a mad crush on Mickey Culley. He'd even let me wear his baseball hat, which was a sign he liked me, too. It was Friday and we were scheduled for our usual movie afternoon. I had the task of closing the curtains and Mickey was helping me. There, lost in the plastic folds, he kissed me, smack on the lips. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Of course, hearing later that he ate dog food sandwiches dimmed the moment, but at the precise time he kissed me, I discovered tummy butterflies. I'll always remember Mickey Culley, my first love.
Mine, well lets just say it was more like a really awkward peck. The kiss that I consider my first kiss was a 1:31 am New Years day 2011, the same day that this boy asked me to be his boyfriend, told me he loved me, and did I mention it was our first date? I still feel like I'm on cloud nine when I think of it.
That is a fun first kiss. When I read others stories it makes me wonder what mine will be like.
Like you, I was pretty shy and didn't have my first kiss until I was at college. However, it was with a boy I knew from 5th grade. We were in the same class and "liked" each other and would write notes to each other. (I still have a page in my old scrapbook with his school picture and the words "The first boy I REALLY liked" written underneath.) I moved away the next year and lost contact with him.
Fast forward to high school when I was sorting through some boxes and came across those old notes from 5th grade that I had saved. One had his address and so on a whim, I decided to write him a letter, not knowing if he even still lived in the same place. Turns out he did and he wrote me back. We wrote several times and discovered we were both headed for the same college (BYU) and living in the same on-campus housing complex (Helaman Halls). The first week of school, he found me in the cafeteria and we renewed our friendship. A month or so later, he walked me back to my building after visiting in the lobby of his one night and gave me a kiss at the door. :)

Mine was with Stephen...just say his name and my younger sister will still swoon...he was a mighty fine looking young man and I was so happy to be with him.. The night of our first kiss, we had watched a movie at his parents house, then he brought me home in the family van. He sat behind me in one of the captain chairs and I KNEW that he was going to kiss me. But I was terrified. Because what if I was horrible?!? I didn't have a clue what I was doing, so I proceeded to talk about anything and everything I could think of because I figured as long as I was talking, there would be no kissing, right? Wrong. Finally, he just kissed me. And want to know the magic of the night? We fit! We worked! I knew what to do...and so did he, let me tell you what, so did he.
What an awesome kisser.
What an awesome boyfriend.
Everyone ought to be as lucky.
Taking it to the grave, Marie! Thanks for sharing your brave first kiss story.
I was a junior in high school before I had my first kiss. He was a college freshman I met cruising Main Street in my little hometown. He was a little drunk, so the kiss was a little sloppy. Not one to remember. LOL. I'd love to win this book! My email address is: staceycoverstone@gmail.com
Hmmm. Never had my first kiss. :|
Owwweee Danielle. Taking it to the grave! Mine was not very romantic. Thought it was supposed to be spontaneous. I had a real gentleman for a date who asked permission to kiss me first. (sign).
I'm sorry to say I don't remember my first kiss at all. Although, it might have been in kindergarten or first grade when I received my first marriage proposal.
we were at a friends house in the basement trying to figure out a show to watch when our friends ran upstairs to make popcorn leaving us alone. We talked for a bit when he got a phone call. He ran upstairs to take it, but returned just a minute later. He came into the room, smiled at me, put one hand on my cheek, lifted my chin and kissed me gently. Then his lips parted, my heart pounded and I tasted the sweetness of watermelon. That beautiful boy! I don't know if he planned it or not, but he ate the most wonderful watermelon before coming down the stairs and to me it was the syrup of the gods! There was no slurping or slopping, just soft and gentle kisses standing in the basement. Our friends came running down the stairs and rather that jumping away embarrassed he put his arm around my shoulders, gave me a squeeze and we spent the rest of the night doing who knows what! I don't remember the rest because I could think of nothing else!
