No Angel by Theresa Snead
An angel with an attitude

Jonathan Stewart is not at all happy about having to return to earth as a guardian angel, but it's required of all post-mortal spirits to fulfill at least one angel guardianship. Fortunately, on the Guardians Unlimited application, he had the good sense to request a client with early-marked-death status, so he believes that while his stay on earth will be most unpleasant, at least it will be short.
What he doesn't know is that a spirit with EMD status can choose his or her time of death! Jonathan's client, Celeste Knight, has a mind of her own and refuses death at every turn, leaving him stuck as her guardian angel in a place he only wanted to forget.

Take My Heart - book tour

I've never done a book tour before, but it was great fun to answer questions and write articles for other blogs while preparing for this tour.

Staring January 14th and ending the 31st, I will be discussing my Colonial Romance, "Take My Heart".

Take My Heart by Marie Higgins

Mercedes Maxwell’s sister’s last wish was for Mercedes to find evidence against Kat’s husband, William Braxton, and have him hung as a traitor to the crown. Mercedes isn’t naïve when it comes to capturing traitors, because her own deceased husband had once been an agent for the King when they lived in England.

When she meets William Braxton for the first time, all is not as it seems. Portraying her twin, Mercedes knows this is the only way to get close enough to William to discover his secrets. What she finds along the way are little surprises she hadn’t counted on, especially when she begins to give her heart to a man who may be a spy against the crown.

Author Marie Higgins

Since Marie Higgins was a little girl playing Barbies with her sister, Stacey, she has loved the adventure of making up romantic stories. Marie was only eighteen years old when she wrote her first skit, which won an award for Funniest Skit. A little later in life, after she’d married and had children, Marie wrote Church roadshows that were judged as Funniest and Best Written. From there, she branched out to write full-length novels based on her dreams. (Yes, she says, her dreams really are that silly)

Marie has been married for twenty-six years to a wonderful man. Together, they have three loving daughters and several beautiful grandchildren. Marie works full time for the state of Utah, where she has lived her entire life. Marie plans to keep writing, because the characters in her head won’t shut up. But her husband smiles and pretends this is normal.

New book coming very soon!

I wrote "Crazy For You" a few years ago, and so I just need to do some little tweaks here and there to get this baby ready for publication. And just in time...for VALENTINE'S DAY!  Considering this story talks a little about how cupid messes in people's lives, I figure it's the perfect time to have it published. Right?

Oh, and for those who love romantic comedies with a touch of suspense...this is one you'll LOVE! I just know it!

How can a crazy man proclaiming he’s from the future soften a woman’s heart when he needs her help the most?

Fashion Designer, Kendra Whitaker is leery about the strange and terribly dressed man she meets...and she’s even more skeptical when he explains he’s from the future. She refuses to help, but the offbeat man charms her into it, and shows her what love is all about.

Eli’s very existence is threatened, and he needs Kendra’s assistance. The man she’s supposed to marry has locked Eli’s father in a mental institution. Joshua Montgomery must be released and put in his rightful spot as president of Montgomery Aisle. If Eli fails, he’ll not only lose Kendra, but life will cease to exist.

Please welcome...Susan Hughes

I met Susan Hughes the other day. She is also a sweet historical romance writer.

Susan - the floor is yours. Tell us whatever you would like us to know!

Up until now I’ve written only contemporary romances. My latest release, Sense of Touch, is my first historical romance. The idea came about when I decided to write a series of novels about several generations of a family, and I wanted to set them in my home country of Canada.

I started with one of the most dramatic events in our history, the Halifax Explosion of 1917. At the height of the First World War, a munitions ship exploded in Halifax Harbour, decimating the North End of the city. Over 2000 people were killed and 9000 others wounded. Until the atomic bomb tests of the 1940s, it was the largest man-made explosion in recorded history.

This event provides the backdrop of Sense of Touch. Amy and Sean were both deeply affected by the explosion. Amy’s home was destroyed and her parents killed, while Sean lost his eyesight and the little sister he’d promised to protect. In the midst of disaster Amy and Sean found each other, if only briefly, as she helped him escape the destruction of the city.

The story begins as another chance encounter reunites them in 1923. Amy’s scars and her need for security have led her to consider marrying a man she doesn’t love—until the touch of Sean’s hand sparks a desire for something more. As their friendship blossoms into a passionate affair, Sean finds hope and strength in Amy’s arms—but as he struggles to find a sense of purpose without his sight, can love alone mend the deepest wounds of the heart?

I’ve begun working on the second book in the series, which takes place in 1947 in my hometown of Ottawa. I hope to have it completed by summer.

For a chance to win an ebook copy of Sense of Touch, leave a comment on this blog.
